About Kogaion Academy Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo

Kogaion Academy was founded in 2019 in Arlington, VA. It is home to some of the highest quality instruction and practice of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, and Muay Thai in the DMV community. Classes run seven days a week around the clock, and each is dedicated to developing the our students’ skill and application of martial arts to their lives.

We encourage a friendly environment where we care for the safety and well-being of everyone. The group is comprised of students and professionals, men and women, of varying ages and all walks of life who enjoy personal development through martial arts.
The meaning of Kogaion and our logo
Kogaion (pronounced koh-gai-ahn) is an ancient Romanian term for “sacred mountain”. It was the spiritual center for the Dacian people, although its exact location remains a mystery.
The academy’s logo colors represent the blue of the sky and oceans in perpetual motion and the yellow of light and energy. The dracon is a mythical creature with wolf head and snake body.
The spiral and yin yang represent continuous movement, creativity, and evolution, which are grounding philosophies of Kogaion Academy.
