Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Fundamentals
For beginners with little or no experience to learn the basic moves and positions of jiu-jitsu. Class drills will sharpen techniques, build and improve muscle memory, and help students connect to and learn the sport.
Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Intermediate & Advanced
For students who are comfortable with basic techniques. Class involves high-intensity drills and situational and live sparring. Students will prepare to compete in tournaments while improving focus and athleticism to an elite level.
This class complements the BJJ curriculum by pairing ground techniques with take-down skills. Objectives include improving grip fighting, standing balance, timing, and spatial awareness. There will be live sparring. All levels are welcome.
Students will learn submission-based grappling without the traditional gi. No-gi grappling focuses on clinch and ground fighting without using any clothes grips. All levels are welcome.
What to wear: For Brazilian jiu-jitsu and judo classes, all students will be required to wear a gi. Loaner gis are available for new students. For no-gi grappling, students are encouraged to wear rashguards, spats, or wrestling shorts. Standard athletic clothing is recommended for all other classes.
