Class Descriptions

Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Fundamentals

For beginners with little or no experience to learn the basic moves and positions of jiu-jitsu. Class drills will sharpen techniques, build and improve muscle memory, and help students connect to and learn the sport.

All levels are welcome.

Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Intermediate & Advanced

For students who are comfortable with basic techniques. Class involves high-intensity drills and situational sparring. Students will prepare to compete in tournaments while improving focus and athleticism.

There will be live sparring. Recommended for students with at least 6 months of consistent training.

Judo

Our judo classes focuses on the stand-up game, since all BJJ matches officially start on two feet, not the ground. We will focus on throws and trips. Objectives include improving grip fighting, standing balance, timing, and spatial awareness.

There will be (randori) live sparring. All levels are welcome.

NO-Gi Grappling

Students will learn submission-based grappling without the traditional gi. No-gi grappling focuses on clinch and ground fighting, including wrestling takedowns.

All levels are welcome.

What to wear: For Brazilian jiu-jitsu and judo classes, all students will be required to wear a gi. Loaner gis are available for new students. For no-gi grappling, students are encouraged to wear rashguards, spats, or wrestling shorts. Standard athletic clothing is recommended for all other classes.
